I love this dress and I know I'll wear it a lot on nights out - like I have any, with a two- and four-year old! LOL.
I purchased the pattern off EBay and I'm so glad I did. I have now made it three times. It's got lovely princess seams on both the front and back bodice. The pattern offers versions with two different length sleeves, belts and bags! And the instructions are relatively clear!
I made it with a shiny linen bought at Cotton Print Factory Shop in North Belfast - got a 22inch zipper there too. This fabric is lush and yet it only cost £5/meter.
Alterations: I had to take three inches off the hem (I'm only 5'2") and I had to take a full inch off the straps because the whole bodice was too long and the shoulders were too high. I should have done that before constructing the dress but I did that at the end. (Glutton for punishment!) Note: New Look does offer folding lines on the bodice so I'm clearly not the only one who needs that alteration -- my problem was that I didn't do a muslin so I didn't know I would need it. Lesson learned: do a muslin!
